How we approach this
Slide out floor rot is the repair we get called about most, and it almost never shows up alone. A seal that has been leaking means the slide bottom has been soaking for months before anyone notices. Once that subfloor goes soft, the slide starts binding in its tracks and wearing the seals faster, which lets in more water. By the time the floor feels spongy underfoot, there is usually damage in three or four places. We open up the slide, check the mechanism, the seals, and the structure, and tell you how far the rot actually goes before we quote anything. Then we rebuild the slide out floor down to solid framing, add reinforcement where the original build was light, and finish it so it holds up.

Slide Mechanism Won't Move
Rack-and-pinion, hydraulic, and cable systems all fail differently. We figure out what's actually causing the problem before starting any repairs.
Slide Seals Leaking
Worn or torn seals let water in every time it rains. We replace them with the right materials for your slide and verify the full travel range before finishing.
Slide Out Floor Rot
Water behind a failed seal will eventually rot the slide out subfloor and the framing under it. We cut back to solid material, replace the rotted framing, and rebuild the floor so it carries weight again. Patching over rot just buys a season.
Slide Out Floor Reinforcement
A lot of slide outs leave the factory with a floor that is barely strong enough when it is new. When we have one open, we add reinforcement in the spots that flex so the rebuild outlasts the original.
Slide Bottom Rebuild
If the underside of the slide is gone, new flooring on top does nothing. We rebuild the slide bottom, reseal it against the weather, and check the drainage that let water sit there in the first place.
Slide Alignment
A slide that's out of alignment wears seals faster and puts extra strain on the motor. We adjust travel limits and alignment back to spec.
Floor Replacement
After subfloor damage is repaired down to solid framing, we finish the floor with vinyl plank, laminate, or whatever fits your RV — installed over a solid, level base. We won't put new flooring over a bad foundation.

Almost always, yes. Replacing a slide out is rarely the right call. We cut out the rotted subfloor and framing, rebuild it with new material, add reinforcement where it flexes, and reseal it. That costs a fraction of a slide replacement and, done right, it outlasts what came from the factory.
